Sue has been gardening at Nant-y-bedd for more than 40 years. She will tell you that she is not a horticulturalist. Her gardening is inspired by landscape and ecology. She has a First Class Honours degree in Environmental Systems, but is also, perhaps significantly, from a Welsh farming background. Following a professional career in Welsh public sector environmental organisations (including being the first woman Head Warden of any National Park in England and Wales), Sue now devotes the rest of her life to caring for her tiny piece of the planet in the best way that she knows…and welcoming visitors to the garden who would like to do the same.
Nant-y-Bedd is an RHS Partner Garden, won the RHS Partner Garden of the Year Award in 2022 and is a Garden Organic Partner Garden.
