Claire Howlett – Wicton Farm

Claire graduated from the university of Bath with a degree in
International Management and French. She spent 8 years working abroad for an
international volunteering organisation before returning to her family run organic
dairy farm in 2014. Following a difficult succession plan the farm was managed by
Claire and her brother up until 2023. Following the decision for Claire’s brother to
take a sabbatical year Claire now manages the farm and works alongside two
fantastic women. The dairy cows are 100% grass fed, milked once a day and are
allowed to keep their horns. There is a zero tolerance to antibiotics with a focus on
high attention to detail in everything that is done. A calf at foot system was
introduced in 2022. The milk is sold to “Organic herd” (an organic farming
cooperative) in addition to selling through the farm’s two milk vending machines. Last
year the farm started making cheese and have plans to introduce a farm produce
box scheme this year.
“We have a shared dream to create an amazing, regenerative farming food system
which will empower the natural world environment, heal our human community and
create positive change”
